Welcome to Iniyaudaiyam Charitable Trust

Komala Sivakumar and Sujatha Sekar are MBA professionals with a specialized postgraduate diploma in Social Entrepreneurship. We had been sensitive about the concerns of the economically poor children and disabled people in society and had been doing self-initiated philanthropic work.

We choose to devote management and entrepreneurship skills towards changing the lives of underprivileged people. In 2004, our cherished dream converted into a reality when ‘Iniya Udaiyam Charitable Trust’ (IUCT) got registered under Public Charitable Trust Act in Chennai, India.

Our Focus

We focus upon the children who belong to the migrant community and the slum dwellers. They normally beg, do the Rag picking and sell trinkets at the traffic signals.

Slum dwelling children don’t attend the school regularly lack of supervision coming in contact with drugs and another anti-social activity. We are working for their educational upliftment even though they are facing the following problems.

Where We are Operating

Avadi is a Corporation 20 km away from Chennai city in Thiruvallur district. It is one of poorest localities where the majority of the population belongs to migrant laborers. Literacy among the adult is very minimal. Awareness about the children’s education is also very poor. Most of the girl children leave their school education soon after their middle school education. Child marriages are more prevalent in this locality. Our target area is one of the inhabitations of the Enforced evicted people. Most of the Adults are daily casual laborers.  Our Organisation is catering to the needs of nearly 1 lakh population in and around Avadi area.
